Keyboard Lab

Compare mechanical keyboard sounds in one place and get a clearer sense of how different boards may feel before you buy.

Select a keyboard sound pack to unlock the typing area.

Try typing this

Mechanical keyboards reward patience, curiosity, and a little obsession. Listen closely to the sound, notice the weight of each switch, and let the rhythm settle into your fingertips as you type from line to line.

How to use it

Choose a keyboard, turn your sound up, and type naturally. The goal is to help you hear the broad difference between deeper, sharper, or quieter sound profiles before you commit to a board.

What to listen for

  • How a board sounds during normal typing
  • Whether the profile feels deeper, sharper, or quieter
  • Which options you may want to explore further before buying

Keyboard Lab Beta

Keyboard Lab is currently in beta. It is designed to give you an interactive way to preview parts of a keyboard's experience before making a purchase decision.

During this beta phase, the keyboards featured here are based on publicly available references and may not match the exact models we offer at launch.

Our long-term goal is to make this experience as accurate as possible, so that in the future you can test a keyboard online and order that same keyboard with confidence.

Switches are only one part of keyboard sound. Keycaps, case material, desk surface, room acoustics, foam, stabilizers, and typing force can all change what you hear.

Read our mechanical keyboard beginner's guide or join the founder waitlist for launch updates.
